During a third-grade enrichment class at Sanford Pride Elementary, students were placed in groups of 2 or 3. They were given 30 mini marshmallows and 15 pieces of dry spaghetti. They had to work with their partners and decide the best way to build their skyscraper to stand without being touched. All the students did a great job working with their partners. They were challenged to try this at home during our very snowy Saturday to see if they could build one taller.

Last week, six of Sanford Middle School’s 7th and 8th grade band students had the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the District 1 Honors Band. These students auditioned for this ensemble back in October and spent January and February preparing for the festival. Unfortunately their performance on Saturday was snowed out, but they still had the opportunity to rehearse with 78 other students from 13 other area schools!
