Sanford Regional Technical Center students Camden Roux and Blair Martin, both from Sanford High School, are among twelve SRTC students in the Engineering and Architectural program who earned a college certificate from York County Community College. 3rd graders at Margaret Chase Smith had the chance to go to the Historical Society last week to see some artifacts and displays that help students understand Sanford and Springvale's history. Coyotes were also able to take a walking tour to observe some establishments that make Sanford what it is today!

SMS 8th graders enjoyed a field trip to Casco Bay Mailboat last week. It was a beautiful day for a field trip!

Margaret Chase Smith had some courageous coyotes get up on stage Thursday night to perform songs that they have been working on with Ms. Hastings in music. The kindergarten and 1st grade pups did a great job sharing their hard work with families in the Wilkins Gym. Families were also able to check out our Art Show that was put on by Mrs. LG. Art work filled our hallways for families to see what their pup has been working on in art. The 2nd and 3rd grade are tonight at the school starting at 4:15 p.m.!

The Sanford High School and Middle School bands did a wonderful job at the Sanford Memorial Day parade yesterday!

Bella Garneau, an 8th-grade student at Sanford Middle School, has successfully completed a year-long project for “Pure Water for the World,” a non-profit organization focused on providing clean drinking water to underprivileged communities. Read more about it here!

The Sanford School Department wishes the community a happy Memorial Day. Today is a day to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and to also support the family members of those we have lost. Today and every day, we’re inspired by all who have served this country.

The Student Leadership Team and JMG students attended the 5th Annual Student Leadership Conference at UNE last week. Here were some of their takeaways: treat people the way you want to be treated, be courageous, make goals, and be kind and sympathetic.

Sheila Dube from the Springvale Public library came to talk to Margaret Chase Smith K-3rd grade classrooms about the Summer Reading Program called All Together Now. Ms. Sheila brought her friend, Rocky the Raccoon, and spoke to students about the different happenings during the summer at the library in the children's room. During the summer, students have the ability to make kindness cards that get dispersed to different children's hospitals, nursing homes, and other organizations to spread kindness.
