
Ms. Sawyer & Mrs. Cyr were presented with a thank you gift for their dedication to the Sanford Pride Elementary students during National School Social Work Week last week.


Last week, Mrs. Sturtevant's and Ms. Howard's students at Margaret Chase Smith had the opportunity to share their recent animal informational and "how to" writing pieces with other students within the building. These coyotes did a great job creating chapters to organize their information, adding labels to their illustrations as well as adding transition words to connect their steps.


Sanford Middle School Aquaponics program found out in February that their application for funding was awarded! The grant goals are to do some maintenance on the greenhouse, to expand the growing capacity of the aquaponics with new grow beds. Congratulations!

The class of 2026 is hosting a dodgeball tournament Thursday, March 16th at 2:30 PM in the high school gym. Parents, staff, students, and community members are encouraged to join and have fun! A reminder that the 35th Annual Bandfest All-City concert will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the gym at Sanford High School (weather permitting). All band students 5-12 from SMS and SHS will be performing!

In September, we expect to continue offering full-day pre-k programming at Carl J. Lamb School, Margaret Chase Smith School, Sanford Pride Elementary School, and Sanford Regional Technical Center.
In these Pre-K programs, children participate in age-appropriate learning experiences that promote school readiness and support holistic development.

Mr. E’s PE Class at Carl J. Lamb made the heart parachute beat last week which brought oxygen and carbon dioxide balls to the lungs, body, head, and heart!


Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization that recruits volunteers to teach students about economics and personal finance. Sanford Middle School has been hosting this event for many years. On Wednesday, 11 volunteers from local businesses came to Sanford Middle School to teach 8th graders about economic and personal finance. Students rotated five sessions and learned about topics such as international trade, business, and culture.
