A few Sanford Middle School students have been making Tuesday evenings magical at the mountain through our new ski and snowboard club.
From beginners mastering the chairlift to experienced skiers finding their favorite runs, students of ALL skill levels are having a blast!

Last night, our Sanford Performing Arts Center was filled with beautiful music as students from grades 4-12 came together for our annual Spring Sing concert!
From the energetic opening by the Spartan Show Choir performing "I'm Still Standing" to the powerful finale of "Oye" by our high school vocalists, the evening showcased the incredible talent and hard work of our young musicians.
A special shoutout to all the parents, family members, and community supporters who filled the auditorium and cheered on our performers!

📦 COMMUNITY IN ACTION: The Sanford Backpack Program's annual food distribution event showcased the power of student leadership this year! SHS and SRTC students planned and executed every detail - from traffic flow to volunteer stations - resulting in an impressive 950 food boxes assembled and over 800 distributed to families in need.
From Fire Science students coordinating logistics to Life Skills classes providing crucial support, this truly was a school-wide effort that showed Sanford's community spirit at its finest.

The Margaret Chase Smith kindergarten team recently hit the back field and hills to enjoy their first experience at sledding. Chase made a special appearance to cheer them on as they celebrated their hard work with expected behaviors.


Sanford High School will be holding an informational evening for parents and guardians of the Class of 2029 on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The event will focus on course selection options for incoming freshmen.
The session will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM at the Sanford Performing Arts Center. Following the discussion, tours of the high school facilities will be available from 7:00-7:30 PM for students and their families.
This event provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to learn about academic pathways and course offerings before their children begin high school in the fall.


A big THANK YOU to all the families who joined us for Kindergarten Registration Night at Sanford Pride Elementary last Wednesday! It was wonderful to see so many excited future kindergartners and their families exploring what our schools have to offer.
Missed the event? No worries! You can still register your child for kindergarten.
Remember: Current Pre-K students in our district are automatically registered (but we loved seeing those who attended)!

Our early childhood education students at Sanford Regional Technical Center couldn't contain their joy today as they cheered on our amazing plow driver, Mike Pepin! While the kiddos stayed warm and cozy behind the fence, Mike cleared our pathways to keep everyone safe.

Transportation systems engineer Mark Love from Engineers Teaching Algebra visited our Algebra and Geometry classes on February 10th, challenging students to design safe traffic intersections—a problem they tackled with enthusiasm!

At this kickoff event, you'll meet staff from all Sanford elementary schools, complete registration paperwork, and connect with local community resources. (Current Pre-K students don't need to register but are welcome to attend!)
ELIGIBILITY: Children must be 5 years old by October 15th, 2025
WHAT TO BRING:

The Sanford School Department is excited to welcome new students to the "Kindergarten Trail" - a series of fun and informative events designed to make each child's transition to kindergarten smooth and enjoyable.
The journey begins with a District-Wide Kindergarten Registration Night on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, from 3:30 - 6:00 PM at Sanford Pride Elementary School (708 Main Street). At this event, families will have the opportunity to meet staff from all Sanford elementary schools, ask questions, and complete registration paperwork. Many local community providers will be present with informational tables to support families during this transition. Current Pre-K students do not need to register, but are welcome to attend.
To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by October 15th, 2025. Parents and guardians should bring their child's birth certificate, proof of residency (utility bill, mortgage bill etc), immunization records, and a parent/guardian photo ID to registration.
Following registration, families will be invited to participate in several welcoming events throughout the spring and summer. On April 3rd, families can attend Kindergarten Exploration to visit classrooms and meet teachers. Then on May 8th, children can participate in the Playground Exploration event, meeting future classmates and enjoying a popsicle.
During the summer, families will schedule a kindergarten screening appointment where vision, hearing, and developmental milestones will be assessed. The journey culminates with an orientation and classroom open house before the first day of school.
