Margaret Chase Smith had its 1st Grade Writing Celebration before the February Vacation! Students delved into the world of nonfiction, exploring topics that piqued their curiosity and ignited their passion for learning. From fascinating animals to favorite sports, each young author embarked on a literary journey to share their newfound knowledge. The culmination of weeks of hard work was evident in the creative displays that adorned the classrooms.

Families at Margaret Chase Smith were invited to stroll through its “Cookies with Character” gallery on Thursday, February 15th.
Visitors witnessed the creativity, imagination, and smiles that went into each character's creation.

This is a reminder that February Vacation runs from Monday, February 19th, through Friday, February 23rd. Students return to school on Monday, February 26th. Enjoy the break!

Here's some important information about upcoming postseason games/meets for our high school teams: The girls' Basketball team had a thrilling victory last evening vs Thornton Academy 63-59.
With this win, they advance to the semifinals at the Cross Insurance Center in Portland on Wednesday, February 21st, at 8:45 pm vs. Gorham High School.
Good luck to the wrestling team, who head to Cony High School on Saturday, February 17th, to compete in the State Tournament at 10 a.m.
Good luck to the indoor track team as they compete in the State Championship meet at USM in Gorham at noon on Monday, February 19th.
On Tuesday, February 20th, members of the wrestling team are heading to compete in the girls wrestling State Championship at Winslow High School at 10 a.m.

Carl J. Lamb Pre-K and Kindergarten students participated in this week's collaborative art and music lesson on the Lunar New Year.
Students made dragon masks in art and learned about traditional Chinese music, dances, and instruments in music class.
Their learning was celebrated with a parade throughout the halls this morning!
