The Sanford School Department is spotlighting employees at all of our schools.
This spotlight is on Margaret Chase Smith speech therapist Jan Butler.
How long have you worked in the Sanford School Department?
I have been a speech/language clinician for 48 years and have worked with students in Sanford for 38 years.
What’s your favorite part about working in Sanford?
The most rewarding experience of being a speech/language clinician in Sanford is the moment when a child breaks through their communication barrier. These are life-changing moments that I have the privilege to help facilitate. I get to help children and their families. I get to make a positive impact on the lives of my students. So, this isn’t a job…it is a calling I am blessed to be a part of because it has a lasting impact on their lives.
What’s your favorite TV show or Movie?
I like mysteries. One of my favorite movies…The Greatest Showman
