Sanford Community Adult Education hosted its first-ever Harvest Lunch on Thursday, November 16th. The entire office staff worked together to put the event on, making food dishes and desserts. Students at SCAE were also invited to make and bring food of their own. Beyond the meals, the Harvest Lunch served as a reminder of the importance of community and collaboration.

Last week, 23 JMG 8th-grade students had the opportunity to attend the Maine Youth Action Network's Leadership Summit. The summit is a two-day event where students can discuss social issues that are important to them with youth from around the state. They also network with state-wide nonprofits that address these issues, allowing them to partner with these organizations and bring more resources to SMS. Sanford Middle School JMG Specialist Tara Houle was so proud of their ability to connect with other students and nonprofit organizations. Projects and work around mental health, civil rights, and substance use are already being worked on by our students due to their conversations at the conference.

MCS Pride PTA's annual Turkey Troy is a spirited tradition that brings students, teachers, and families together to celebrate the community. On Saturday, Cobb Stadium came alive despite the rainy weather with vibrant colors as runners donned sports attire and creative turkey accessories. Thank you to all of the families and businesses who donated their trucks for students to discover and explore!

Sanford Regional Technical Center’s Digital Design students recently screen printed 140 t-shirts for the Grahamtastic Connection 5k run and walk. The Grahamtastic Foundation provides free technology for children and other serious illnesses to support their education, as well as their social and emotional well-being. The technology enables children to continue their education during treatment while also remaining connected to family, friend, and medical providers. The Digital Design Program has supported Grahamtastic and their annual 5k for many years.
