Good evening. This is Matt Nelson, Superintendent for the Sanford School Department calling to let you know that due to positive COVID-19 cases at Ledgemere Transportation, I regret to announce that we are unable to provide bus transportation for the remainder of this week (Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19, 2021) for students at Sanford High School and Sanford Middle School. We will continue to hold in-person learning at these schools so we ask that bus student families find alternate transportation if possible. All Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School students who are unable to secure alternate transportation are expected to work remotely following their normal remote learning schedule. I repeat this is for Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School bus transportation only.
Transportation will be provided for students in grades K-4 although there will be a one hour delay in morning pick up and afternoon drop off for students on Busses 5, 7, 9, 12 and 27.
I repeat -

This is an unfortunate setback and we ask for your flexibility and patience as we work through this issue. We will notify if additional information becomes available.
Please contact your child’s school with questions and concerns.

As with everything this year staff, parent, and students have had to be very flexible. In the past a standard in 4th grade music was learning to read and play notes. Many of you remember the plastic recorders. With COVID-19 restrictions not wanting large volume of air being dispersed, our music teachers have become creative and flexible by teaching students how to meet these standards by learning to read and play notes on ukuleles.
