Good evening. The Sanford School Department has been notified by the Maine CDC that Willard School qualifies again as outbreak status for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Outbreak status means there are three or more cases of COVID-19 within a 14-day period that have been epidemiologically linked. This has happened previously at Willard as well as other schools throughout the district. In speaking with the Maine CDC there is no evidence of school transmission. Schools are allowed to remain open during outbreak status. A few of our schools have remained in outbreak status throughout this school year based on the specific requirements for removing outbreak status. We are sharing this information with you out of an abundance of caution and full transparency. We appreciate everyone’s vigilance in keeping our community safe.

Today we investigated why polar bears are white. We learned that some animals camouflage because they might get eaten (prey) and others are camouflaged so they can hunt without being seen (predators). We had to find and make camouflaged moths. The kids had fun hiding and finding them. by Mrs. Deschambault
