There will be four public performances: Friday, March 24 at 6:30pm, Saturday, March 25 at 1:00pm and 6:30pm, and Sunday, March 26 - 1:00pm.

Slugger is challenging students grades K-8 to read three books above and beyond any school-required reading.
Students who successfully complete the challenge will be given a free ticket to a Sea Dogs game and a free pass to Aquaboggin Water Park.
To participate in the challenge, you must print out the student completion form, fill out the information, and mail or drop off the form to the Portland Sea Dogs.

There will be an informational Spring Sports Meeting in the Sanford Middle School Gym today from 1:40-2:00 for those interested in participating in 7th & 8th Grade Baseball and Softball and any 6th, 7th & 8th grader interested in running Track & Field.

Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School are working with Northern Lights to offer Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines for our 6th graders. These two vaccines are required before entering 7th grade. Any child entering grade twelve is required to have received two doses of MCV4. The clinic will be held TOMORROW!

In case you missed it, 6th grade band members at SMS were chosen to attend the District #1 Music Festival this year. This festival was held at York High School on Saturday, March 11th. The students got to perform in a band made up of students from 13 other Southern Maine Schools. Congratulations!


We want to congratulate our Sanford Middle School wrestlers, Ryder LaChance, Parker Parent, Scotty Johnson and Gabe Williams on their performance at the Youth New England Wrestling Championships this past weekend! Shout out to Ryder LaChance on his 4th place finish! Great job Spartans!

Sanford Middle School's JMG Program held its Sanford's Got Talent 2023 show on Friday, March 10th. The evening was split into two parts of performances from nearly 40 Sanford Middle School students. Performances included dance routines, guitar solos, ventriloquist demonstrations, and much more. https://bit.ly/3Lt8YEv

Last week, six of Sanford Middle School’s 7th and 8th grade band students had the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the District 1 Honors Band. These students auditioned for this ensemble back in October and spent January and February preparing for the festival. Unfortunately their performance on Saturday was snowed out, but they still had the opportunity to rehearse with 78 other students from 13 other area schools!

Good evening. This is a message from the Sanford School Department. We apologize for calling so late but due to the weather forecast and impending snow storm, there will be no school on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. We are making the notification now to help with planning. This will be our 5th snow day. The last day of school is now Tuesday, June 13th.

Sanford Middle School Aquaponics program found out in February that their application for funding was awarded! The grant goals are to do some maintenance on the greenhouse, to expand the growing capacity of the aquaponics with new grow beds. Congratulations!

A reminder that the 35th Annual Bandfest All-City concert will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the gym at Sanford High School (weather permitting). All band students 5-12 from SMS and SHS will be performing!
