Sanford Middle School students in Diana Allen and Brock Sanborn's science class have been hard at work researching the world's biomes and the results are impressive!

From detailed tri-fold displays to handcrafted 3D models of sustainable dwellings, these young scientists put their creativity and critical thinking on full display.

Staff and students had the chance to stop by yesterday, ask questions, and even serve as judges, giving students a real-world presenting experience that goes beyond the classroom.

8th grade JMG students from Sanford Middle School recently traveled to Central Maine Community College in Auburn to participate in the two-day Maine Youth Action Network Leadership Conference.

Students attended workshops led by youth and organizations from across Maine working to make a positive impact in our state, visited a networking fair where they made meaningful connections related to their interests, and took part in hands-on leadership training sessions.

Our students were complimented by conference attendees and organizers for their professionalism, energy, and level of engagement. We are so proud of everything these students represented at this event!

Sanford Middle School recently welcomed Boomer, the beloved mascot of the Sanford Mainers, for special assemblies with 5th and 6th graders! Boomer kicked off the Mainers' Bookworms program, challenging the whole school to read through the beginning of April. It's a fun way to celebrate reading while connecting students to their hometown team!

Sanford's Got Talent did not disappoint last Friday! Nearly 20 acts, a packed house at Sanford Middle School, and an amazing night all around.

Congrats to all the finalists and every single student who got up on the stage.

What makes this show extra special is that it's completely student-run. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our students.

Sanford's Got Talent did NOT disappoint last night!! 🎉 Nearly 20 acts, a packed house at Sanford Middle School, and honestly such an amazing night all around. First place went to the same student for the SECOND year in a row — yeah, they really do have talent!! 🏆 And a super well-deserved Honorable Mention was handed out too. Congrats to all the finalists and every single kid who got up on that stage — it takes guts and you all killed it!! What makes this show extra special is that it's completely student-run. The JMG students actually go through a real application and interview process to get their roles for the show.

Shoutout to Sophia O'Connell, Emma Higgins, and Mason Labbe for representing Sanford Middle School at the District 1 7th & 8th Grade Honors Festival!

Sophia and Mason brought their best to the Honors Band, and Emma knocked it out of the park in the Honors Chorus. Both ensembles put on a fantastic performance!

7th graders at Sanford Middle School just wrapped up a learning unit on the Holocaust, and what a way to finish it. Students spent the past several weeks studying the Holocaust in both social studies and ELA, and capped it all off with a live performance by Russell Kaback whose show, 25044: A Musical Story of Resilience, tells the true story of his grandfather's survival. It was moving, it was powerful, and our kids were fully present for every minute of it.
