Sanford Middle School celebrated the ribbon cutting of a brand-new outdoor equipment shed this morning, and the best part? Students built it themselves.
Members of our Mechanical Advantage Club and Environmental Club spent the year designing, measuring, cutting, and assembling this permanent structure from the ground up. From laying the floor to installing the doors, this was a true student-led project, and it shows.
The shed now houses cornhole boards, volleyballs, basketballs, Frisbees, soccer balls, Connect Four, and more, giving every student the chance to get outside, get moving, and enjoy some fresh air during the school day.

Over the past few weeks, 7th and 8th grade JMG students at Sanford Middle School completed three career exploration experiences.
Students visited the Sanford Fire Department, the Center for Wildlife, and the Wells and Sanford campuses of York County Community College, including the new First Responder Training Facility in Alfred.
They explored pathways in emergency services, environmental science, electrical work, and welding, getting hands-on exposure to careers they may never have considered before.
We're grateful to all the professionals and organizations who opened their doors to our students!

Big shoutout to the Sanford High School students who visited Sanford Middle School this morning! They took time out of their day to sit down with our rising 9th graders and share their firsthand experiences at SHS — real voices, real stories, and exactly the kind of peer connection that makes a difference. Thank you for helping pave the way!

Sanford Middle School students in Diana Allen and Brock Sanborn's science class have been hard at work researching the world's biomes and the results are impressive!
From detailed tri-fold displays to handcrafted 3D models of sustainable dwellings, these young scientists put their creativity and critical thinking on full display.
Staff and students had the chance to stop by yesterday, ask questions, and even serve as judges, giving students a real-world presenting experience that goes beyond the classroom.
