Come experience the harmonious voices of our community's talented singers as they welcome the spring season with beautiful melodies! The All-Town Chorus brings together vocalists from across Sanford and Springvale for this special evening of music.

Sanford Middle School spring sports registration is now open for the following sports: 7th and 8th Grade Softball and Baseball, 7th and 8th grade Boys' and Girls' lacrosse, and 6th-8th grade Boys' and Girls' Track and Field. Tryouts/Practices will begin Monday, April 14th.

Sanford High School will be holding an informational evening for parents and guardians of the Class of 2029 on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The event will focus on course selection options for incoming freshmen.
The session will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM at the Sanford Performing Arts Center. Following the discussion, tours of the high school facilities will be available from 7:00-7:30 PM for students and their families.
This event provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to learn about academic pathways and course offerings before their children begin high school in the fall.

Transportation systems engineer Mark Love from Engineers Teaching Algebra visited our Algebra and Geometry classes on February 10th, challenging students to design safe traffic intersections—a problem they tackled with enthusiasm!

Sanford Middle School JMG students had an incredible hands-on learning experience yesterday at the Sanford Police Department!
Students got an inside look at law enforcement careers during their visit, where they engaged with local officers and learned about the important role police play in our community. They had the opportunity to explore specialized equipment and hear firsthand about what it takes to serve in law enforcement.
A special thank you to the Sanford Police Department officers who took time to share their knowledge and experiences with our students.

Meet Paityn, the 7th grader making sure no student goes hungry at Sanford Middle School! Her "SnackDash" project just won a national grant to help provide free snacks between meals. Talk about student leadership in action! 💪

Sanford Middle School 5th graders participated in an informative session this morning about managing everyday challenges that come with growing up.
SMS staff led thoughtful discussions with students about handling different types of stress - from homework and friendships to community safety.
The best part? Students learned practical, healthy ways to handle tough moments, like exercise, reading, spending time with pets, and other positive activities.

Big news from Sanford Middle School’s library! Librarian/Media Specialist Julie Williams has been selected for the prestigious School Library Journal's Mock Newbery Committee! How long have you been working in the Sanford School Department?
I completed my student teaching at Willard School when it was a 4-6 school with the late, great Rose Marie Ryan, so counting that year I guess it's been about 35 years!
What's your favorite part about working in Sanford?
The students and families here are the reason why I came to work during my time as a classroom teacher, and they are the reason I came back to work a few years ago after "retiring!"
