3rd grade classrooms at Margaret Chase Smith just finished up their reading unit on Because of Winn Dixie. During this unit, students analyzed varying characters and their traits in the book, and it allowed them to make predictions based on what they knew about the characters. To celebrate the work in this unit, our third grade coyotes got to have a Because of Winn Dixie party where they were able to showcase dogs in their own lives, generate a mistake tree, and enjoy some peanut butter and egg salad sandwiches, pickles, litmus lozenges, and some "dump punch," just like the party in the book!
