Sanford’s Title 1 teams invited parents to attend their Fall Meet and Greets. Over 40 parents made time in their busy mornings to meet their child’s Title teachers, gain insights into the program’s objectives, understand how our teachers support student progress, and receive engaging family activities to aid their child’s literacy and math development at home. Our Title 1 program collaborates with classroom teachers to provide support to students through small-group sessions, ensuring their growth and success. The Meet and Greet was one of three parent-oriented occasions offered by the Title 1 teams throughout the school year. Parents will have the opportunity to participate in a lesson alongside their child and attend a family night filled with activities and games.

On Wednesday, October 4th, the 7th and 8th grade field hockey teams won their game against Wells. They were cheered on by some of the varsity and JV players from the SHS team. The girls appreciated the support from their future teammates and thank them and all the parents and spectators for the continued encouragement!

The fire department took the time to educate and reinforce safety protocols among the students. They showcased the gear they have to wear when responding to a scene, emphasizing their purpose and significance in ensuring their safety. The students were very attentive and respectful to the department, and had the opportunity at the end of the presentation to ask questions.

Celebrate Homecoming 2023 with the Sanford High School Student Council at our parade on Alumni Boulevard! Mark your calendars for Friday, October 13th at 4 p.m., as we kick off the festivities at the tennis courts on Alumni Boulevard and conclude at the Gil Dionne softball field. The Homecoming Parade was a longstanding tradition at Sanford, and we have been fortunate to receive tremendous community support throughout the years. This year, we invite you to join us once again and witness the hard work and dedication of our talented students. All of our student floats will be designed around the theme of "Children's Storybooks." This promises to be a fantastic family event! Below is the lineup for the parade: Youth Sports Participating in the parade Marching (not riding on floats) Freshman Class Float Freshman Class Marching in the parade Sophomore Class Float Sophomores Marching in the parade Junior Class Float Junior Class Marching in the parade Senior Class Float Senior Class Marching in the Parade Marching Band - Marching To ensure that everyone can fully enjoy the parade, we kindly request spectators to park at the high school no later than 3:30 pm. This will allow ample time to secure a spot along the lively parade route on Alumni Boulevard. Please note that after 3:30 pm, Alumni Boulevard will be closed off until the conclusion of the parade. If you arrive later, we encourage you to park off campus and walk to the parade route. For easy access, all traffic will enter from the Main Street entrance as the Route 4 entrance will be closed to the public. Once the parade wraps up, Alumni Boulevard will reopen to the public, allowing for smooth traffic flow as we transition to the football game at 7 p.m. Don't miss out on this opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the spirit of Homecoming. Sanford High School’s marching band is in the Maine Band Directors Association Circuit. The schedule for the circuit consists of five regular season shows and a Maine Marching Band Finals. All shows are scheduled on Saturday nights. Sanford is hosting the Maine Marching Band Finals this year on Saturday, October 28.
