The career exploration badge for Maine high school juniors and seniors is an opportunity to participate in 40 hours of meaningful work experiences facilitated through a designed exploration and reflection process. Sanford Regional Technical Center students in the Cosmetology Program visited Empire Beauty School in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Students got to experience a day in the life of an Empire student, and each returned with a little memento of some sparkly hair tinsel. Many former SRTC students have gone on to study at Empire and have successful careers in salons and spas all over New England. The trip was an exciting opportunity for these students as they think and prepare for life after SRTC.

Plants Plus at Sanford Regional Technical Center is holding a Valentine’s flower and plant sale from Monday, February 12th, to Wednesday, February 14th. Roses, daisies, snapdragons, sea lavender, and others are available in large and small arrangements, bouquets, and by the stems. A variety of house plants are also available. From 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., students will sell out of the kiosk and the greenhouse. You can order now using the following form: https://form.jotform.com/232964618558167 You can also scan the QR codes on the posters around the school. Congratulations to the SHS Wrestling team for placing 2nd in the Maine Duals Championship on Saturday. The team will now move on to the regional wrestling championship, which will be held at Sanford High School on Saturday, February 10th, at 9 a.m. The Cheer team placed 5th in the Class A South regional competition on Saturday and will now compete in the State Championship at the Augusta Civic Center on Saturday, February 10th. The competition will begin at 4 p.m. Sanford will perform at 4:36 p.m. All MPA ticketing for these two competitions is now digital at GOFAN. The Indoor Track team will compete in the Southwestern Conference Championships this Saturday, February 10th, at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the University of Southern Maine's Gorham field house. Additionally, USM charges for parking on their campus.
