
There was a special moment at Sanford High School on Friday, December 8th. SHS senior Sam Sprague was surprised by representatives from Colby College, who had come to the school to personally deliver his Early Decision acceptance letter. Sam’s parents and SHS counselor Greg MacDougal were there to capture the moment. Congratulations Sam!

“The Obstacle is the Way” was the theme of this year’s SMAA Sportsmanship Summit at Sanford High School on Tuesday, December 5th.
This was the fourth consecutive year SHS has hosted the summit, which brought in all 17 schools from the SMAA. The event allowed student-athletes to come together, learn, and promote sportsmanship values. Ten student-athletes were chosen to represent each school.

The National Honors Society is putting on its annual Toys for Tots collection at Sanford High School. December 8th before the boys' basketball games, they will be collecting toys outside of Partners Bank Gymnasium, along with outside the Girls' basketball games on the 12th. There are also boxes outside of the main office for collection as well. The collection ends after the varsity girls' basketball game on the 12th.

The Animal Welfare Society brings pets into Sanford Middle School and presents a program to 5th graders. Check out some pictures from a recent session!



The halls of Margaret Chase Smith were filled with fourth grade and kindergarten students who created their own balloon parade. Students used their creative skills to draft, design and build their own balloons to display during our parade before Thanksgiving Break.



Sanford Middle School organized a series of informative panels to educate students about the dangers of vaping in the cafeteria last week.
Sanford Middle School offered two to three sessions most mornings, ensuring that all students had the opportunity to attend. These sessions lasted approximately 30 to 40 minutes, allowing time for panelists to present information and engage with the students.
