I-Pads & Additional Resources Available for K-4 students on Friday, March 20th

The following is a letter from Matt Nelson, Superintendent of Schools
This is an important message to let families of K-4 elementary students know that iPads and additional resources for learning will be available for pick up at all three elementary schools tomorrow, Friday, March 20th from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
At CJL and Willard School, parents will remain in their cars and provide the child’s name and classroom teacher for curbside pick-up. At Lafayette School, parents will be met at the front door.
The Sanford School Department is being proactive in putting technology in your child’s hands. Students’ iPads have many apps children may use to support the work that has been done in the classroom. The distance -learning document that accompanies the device focuses on additional school learning opportunities in the event that school closings extend beyond March 27th.
If you are unable to pick-up your child’s iPad and additional learning resources on Friday, please contact your elementary school’s main office on Monday during normal school hours to make arrangements to pick-up materials.

The Sanford Backpack Program will have regular weekly food bags packed and ready for pick up along with free produce and many extras on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 4:00 pm-6:30 pm at Lafayette School and Willard School. Please pull up and stay in your vehicle, to have your bag(s) and box(es) of food placed in your vehicle for you.
If you are unable to make it to either of these locations at these times and need food assistance, please email lori@strongersanford.org to make arrangements.
Several of our staff have gotten together and created this flyer to celebrate CJL's first ever "Virtual Spirit Week" for the week of March 23rd - March 27th. Please consider participating and sharing photos and smiles with your student's teachers. Let's have some fun!

On Saturday, March 7th, these 6th grade students participated in the District #1 6th Grade Music Festival. This festival was held at York High School and featured the best 6th grade musicians from each school in southern Maine
Sanford School Department’s 32nd Annual Bandfest at Memorial Gym. Grades 5-12 performing by grade and all together. Sounding great!
Today is the final day to submit an application for admission to the Sanford Regional Technical Center for the 2020-2021 school year. Applications will be accepted until midnight tonight at https://www.sanford.org/o/sanford-regional-technical-center.

Dear Class of 2024 Parents/Guardians,
SHS is excited to welcome the Class of 2024 (officially) to SHS. Attached is a copy of the schedule card for incoming freshmen. Your child's core teacher (english/science/math/social studies) will make a recommendation as to what they believe the best level of course will be for your child at SHS. If you have questions or concerns about this recommendation please contact your child's teacher directly. Your child will bring the form home to you and we ask that you sign it and have them return the form to their homeroom teacher. The link below is for you to review with your child the 160 enrichment options that will be offered at SHS on Tues/Thurs next year. We ask that students choose two they would like as well as two alternate choices as well. I look forward to meeting many of you Thursday night at our incoming freshmen night at SHS at 6:30 pm. If you cannot attend please know we will offer another orientation this summer. I will be meeting with all freshmen regarding scheduling for SHS on March 6th during the school day!
