This is another reminder that the Maine Department of Education is accepting Teacher of the Tear nominations. Nominations can be made through a form on the Maine Teacher of the Year Website from now until 5:00 p.m. on January 31st, 2024. They are accepted by students, parents, caregivers, community members, school administrators, colleagues, college faculty members, and associations/organizations. Sanford Middle School is having its Winter Wonderland dance tonight for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. It starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5, and concessions will be available!


The Sanford Middle School 8th grade staff cooked and served a spaghetti luncheon with tablecloths and holiday music before winter break. This took place in Memorial Gym for the entire 8th grade as a random act of kindness to show their appreciation for the student's hard work.

Sanford Middle Schooler Josh Fogarty baked his way through the holiday season. Josh baked cookies, cakes, and other treats in December to raise money for the Toys for Tots program. Each year, he raises money to help children in need.


Sanford Middle Schooler Grayson Perro set up a cocoa stand to raise money to buy holiday gifts for residents of the York County Shelter Program.
He set up his stand in front of the Bowl-A-Rama on Route 109 and sold cocoa, caramel corn, cookies, and brownies.
Friends and family members joined him. This is Grayson’s fourth year operating a cocoa stand.


Every month, Sanford Middle School students who make a positive difference in the school are honored with a certificate and a treat. Here are a few of the honorees with Mrs. Avery.

Sanford Middle School recently completed its Holiday Food Drive Competition, which was organized by the JMG program.
This annual event, which has been going on for over a decade, brings teachers, students, and families together to support those in need during the holiday season.
This year's food drive was a resounding success, surpassing expectations and making a significant impact on Sanford families.
