
SHS Student Council is hosting Dancing with the Stars on Friday, Dec. 13th, at 7 p.m. at Sanford High School to raise money for homecoming preparations for the following year.
The event will be $10 admission at the door and feature participants from fall and winter sports, ranging from football players to marching band members.

Congratulations to the incredible arts students at Sanford High School! Last night, they celebrated dual induction ceremonies for the Tri-M Music Honor Society (Chapter 3909) and National Art Honor Society.
These talented musicians were recognized for their achievements in District 1 Honors Festival, All-State, and Jazz All-State performances. Special recognition to the Tri-M inductees who have shown outstanding dedication to music education and performance.
The evening also welcomed new members to the National Art Honor Society, celebrating excellence in visual arts. Both ceremonies were held at the Sanford Performing Arts Center, followed by open studios and refreshments.

Sanford High School Theater Company is set to captivate audiences with a powerful production of “12 Angry Jurors” at Sanford Performing Arts Center from November 22-24, 2024.
This classic courtroom drama immerses audiences in the intense deliberations of a jury in a homicide case, bringing personal biases and moral convictions into a gripping exploration of justice.
Students have been diligently working on “12 Angry Jurors” since September, developing their characters, refining the staging, and bringing this story to life with impressive dedication.
In a nod to authenticity, the cast will be seated in the actual jury chairs on loan from the recently decommissioned York County Courthouse.
Performance Dates and times:
Friday, November 22 at 7:00 PM
Saturday, November 23 at 7:00 PM
Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 PM
Tickets range from $10 to $13, with discounts for seniors, military, and subscribers. Tickets are free for students.

Enrollment for Early College courses for Spring 2025 is now open. If you are interested in taking a dual enrollment course and need help registering, please fill out the form below so we can book you for a help session on November 15th during Spartan Time.
Beginning in their sophomore year, academically eligible students can take up to 12 college credits for free through either Maine's public universities or community colleges. Credits taken beyond 12 credits will be offered at a reduced tuition rate through the college/university.

Good luck to SHS sophomore Isaac Pelletier as he competes this Saturday, November 2nd in the State Cross Country Meet. The meet will be held at the Twin Brook Rec Facility in Cumberland. The Class A Boy's race will start at 12:20 pm. Isaac finished last weekend's regional race with a time of 18:26 and placed 28th out of 112 runners.
The boy's Cross Country Team will also be receiving an award as the recipient of the Maine Principals Association Class A South Sportsmanship winners. Congratulations to Coach Smith, Coach Strout, and our boys runners.
