Joshua Fogarty, Anna Brown, Allison Horton, and Adeline Fraser have won the State Elks Drug Awareness Video Contest with their powerful message about making positive choices.
Using just their phones and iMovie, these creative students showed that you don't need fancy equipment to make a difference!
They'll be honored at a special banquet in Waterville in May.

Yesterday, DEA Agent Brian O'Keefe visited to provide our middle and high school staff with crucial information about current substance use trends affecting New England communities.
The presentation covered important insights that help our educators better understand the challenges our students may face and how to recognize warning signs.

Sanford High School Theater Company is bringing the electrifying energy of Grease to the stage at the Sanford Performing Arts Center! The production stars Ben Terril as Danny Zuko and Ava Fagan as Sandy Dumbrowski, with Sanford High School Principal Tracy Gibson in the role of Ms. Lynch. SHS Senior Hope Abbott-Eaton, starring as Rizzo, is also the show’s principal choreographer.
Under the direction of Brett Williams, this production features spectacular sets, dazzling costumes, and a few surprises that will make for an unforgettable theatrical experience! This special school edition of Grease is slightly abridged but still delivers all the fun, music, and nostalgia that have made it a favorite for generations. Featuring timeless hits like Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’
and We Go Together, this production is suitable for younger audiences while retaining the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion.

TODAY during Spartan Time, Sanford High School welcomed David Edward Garcia!
School Counseling hosted the world's ONLY 5-language-speaking motivational comedian, who brought laughter and inspiration to our Spartans this morning!
David shared his powerful journey from being an "at-risk student" to earning both Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Through humor and personal stories, he delivered valuable insights on:
- Leadership
- Grit
- Creating your own success story

Benjamin Terril, a senior at Sanford High School, has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal's Award, Principal Tracy Gibson. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals' Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior's academic achievement and citizenship.
"Throughout his years at Sanford High School, Benjamin has distinguished himself in the classroom, in the theater program, on the playing field, and as a leader in the school and the community," Principal Gibson noted in making the award.
Benjamin, Principal Gibson and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal's Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine's school administrators.


A belated congratulations to the Sanford High School Girls Basketball team for recently winning the SMAA Sportsmanship Award!


Last night, our Sanford Performing Arts Center was filled with beautiful music as students from grades 4-12 came together for our annual Spring Sing concert!
From the energetic opening by the Spartan Show Choir performing "I'm Still Standing" to the powerful finale of "Oye" by our high school vocalists, the evening showcased the incredible talent and hard work of our young musicians.
A special shoutout to all the parents, family members, and community supporters who filled the auditorium and cheered on our performers!

📦 COMMUNITY IN ACTION: The Sanford Backpack Program's annual food distribution event showcased the power of student leadership this year! SHS and SRTC students planned and executed every detail - from traffic flow to volunteer stations - resulting in an impressive 950 food boxes assembled and over 800 distributed to families in need.
From Fire Science students coordinating logistics to Life Skills classes providing crucial support, this truly was a school-wide effort that showed Sanford's community spirit at its finest.

Sanford High School will be holding an informational evening for parents and guardians of the Class of 2029 on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The event will focus on course selection options for incoming freshmen.
The session will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM at the Sanford Performing Arts Center. Following the discussion, tours of the high school facilities will be available from 7:00-7:30 PM for students and their families.
This event provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to learn about academic pathways and course offerings before their children begin high school in the fall.
