Congratulations to Sanford High School's Winter Guard and Winter Percussion on their outstanding performances at the Maine Band Directors Association Winter Finals, held this weekend at Marshwood High School.

Winter Guard earned a Silver Medal for their show "Sanford: Live in Concert," and Winter Percussion took home the Gold Medal for their show "Immortal."

Both groups now advance to New England Finals. Winter Guard competes in Salem, MA on Saturday, April 4th, and Winter Percussion follows on April 11th in Fitchburg, MA.

We are so proud of three Sanford High School students who were recognized for their artwork at the Youth Art Month exhibition at the Portland Museum of Art this weekend! Congrats to Charlotte Fuentes Hood (2D Design, grade 9), Parker King (Drawing, grade 9), and Olivia Farrington (Ceramics, grade 11). Their work will be on display at the Portland Museum of Art through April 5th.

Huge thank you to the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters for putting on a wonderful show at the Performing Arts Center today for our high school students this afternoon!

Tonight's Winter Sports Awards Night has been postponed to Monday, March 9th, at 6 PM

SHS juniors recently gathered for an important school counseling session focused on setting them up for success! Counselors reviewed updated graduation requirements, dove into post-secondary planning, and helped students start thinking ahead for course scheduling.

Juniors also learned about upcoming one-on-one Junior Meetings and are encouraged to bring a parent or guardian along. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with counselors and plan for the road ahead together.

Congratulations to our basketball teams on advancing to the semifinals on Thursday, February 19th. The girls will play at 1:00 pm vs South Portland, and the boys will play at 6:00 pm vs Portland. You can buy tickets ahead of time at the following link: GoFan.co/MPA

Good luck to our Girls Basketball team as they travel to the Portland Expo today to play the Thornton Academy Golden Trojans at 2:45 pm. Tickets can be purchased online using the QR code or at the door.

What an incredible winter season for Sanford Athletics! Our wrestling team has qualified 7 wrestlers to compete in the Class A State Championship on Saturday, February 14th at 10:00 AM at Cony High School. We will also have Kylee Hunt compete in the Girls State Championship on Tuesday, February 17th at 10:00 AM at Belfast High School.

Our Boys Basketball team has completed the regular season 17-1, finishing as the #2 seed in Class A South! They will play #10 Bonny Eagle on Saturday, February 14th at 2:45 PM at the Portland Expo.

Our Boys & Girls Track & Field team has 23 student-athletes qualify to compete in the State Championship Meet on Monday, February 16th at 12:00 PM at the USM Field House in Gorham.

Our Girls Basketball team has completed the regular season 16-2, finishing as the #2 seed in Class A South! They will play #7 Thornton Academy on Tuesday, February 17th at 2:45 PM at the Portland Expo.
