On January 30, Sanford Junior High School celebrated the first-ever Day of Welcome, sponsored by the Civil Rights Team. The team created posters with welcoming messages, gave a special morning announcement and displayed a slideshow in the cafeteria.

Congratulations to sixth grader Cody Rosander of LC 7! He is the 2019-2020 school Geography Bee champion. Second place went to 5th grade student Remington Clarke from Mr. Ouellette's class, and 3rd place went to 7th grader Joe Ouellette from LC 5.

Sanford Junior High hosted their annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday January 7th, 2020. With 42 contestants competing, it took over an hour for a winner to be crowned. 6th grader, Mia Cote, took home the title of SJHS Spelling Bee Champion and 7th grader, Noah Propper, was the respectable runner up. Mia & Noah will both represent Sanford Junior High at the York County Spelling Bee on February 4th,2020 at Biddeford Middle School. Best of luck Mia & Noah!
