For high schoolers looking for community service hours, North Parish Church at 895 Main St, Sanford (across from Partner's Bank) is looking for volunteers to provide childcare on Sundays from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Usually 4-6 children, with no religious expectations. Margaret Chase Smith Pride PTA is hosting a Teacher Wish List Drive. They are seeking donations for classroom supplies to help get our teachers and students through the second half of the year. The drive ends on Friday, February 10th. Supplies will be dropped off to each individual teacher on or around Valentine's Day. The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is coming to Sanford High School and SRTC on Monday, Jan. 30th for a presentation on their apprenticeship program and other employment opportunities at the Shipyard. There will be two presentations. If you are interested please see Mrs. Schindler in room D211 (Second floor green wing) to sign up. This is an opportunity to learn more about PNSY's apprenticeship program and some hints on applying before the hiring event in February. This cohort of apprentices will start in June after graduation.
