This is a reminder that the Veterans Memorial Fund is bringing the Wall That Heals to Sanford starting next Tuesday, September 5th, through the 10th. The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It’s also coming with a mobile Education Center and will be located on Route 109 in South Sanford, across from Walmart. The Wall will be open 24 hours a day starting Thursday, September 7th, and free to the public. The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War. It provides an opportunity to honor and remember all those who served and sacrificed in the Vietnam War while also affording a valuable learning opportunity for young people in our community, including students. Today was orientation for new teachers in the school department. The day provided them the opportunity to meet school committee members, administrators, and staff. They also participated in informational sessions and safety training. We can’t wait for the start of the school year!
