We’re going back to the 1988 Class A Track and Field Championships for today’s #ThrowBackThursday The Sanford girls track team was in the middle of winning four straight Class A state titles from 1987 to 1990. Debbie Sweeney helped lead Sanford to the title with wins in the 400 and 800. Her teammates Amy Patterson and Charla Harrie were second and third in the 800! And Scott Dugas tied state records in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle events that day! #TBT



The Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation recently raised money to name two classrooms at Sanford High School in honor of Lorraine Chick, a business teacher at SHS for nearly three decades.
Lorraine taught at Sanford High School from 1954 to 1983. During her tenure, she taught a range of business classes, including bookkeeping I and II.
Mrs. Chick’s daughters, Janice and Joanne, were present to witness their mother’s naming dedication on Tuesday at Sanford High School.


A reminder that Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School Athletes who need a physical will be able to receive one on Tuesday, August 8th, from 3-5 p.m. at Sanford High School in Room D105. Please use the Community Retail Center entrance near the greenhouse. The cost is $20. Checks can be made payable to York Hospital. Students must be accompanied by their parent/guardian or have the Limited Sports Exam form signed by their parent/guardian. All physicals are valid for two years from the date the physical was given. Going into the vault from the 1994 Sanford High School yearbook with a #ThrowBackThursday when the field hockey team started their season winning seven straight games! The seventh win of the season gave Diana Walker her 100th career victory. Diana was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame last fall!

There's a tour opportunity for incoming freshman and transfer students at Sanford High School on Wednesday, July 12th, at 12 p.m. Meet us in front of the main entrance of the high school for tours!


The Spartan Youth Wrestling Camp is now less than two weeks away. It runs from Monday, July 10th, to Friday, July 14th, at the high school from 9 AM-12 PM. You can register online by emailing nsmith@sanford.org.
