Check out Ms. Combs' third and fourth grade students as they whipped up some delicious waffles as their final cooking class of the year. Each month the students would learn a new recipe using various seasonal resources. Students earned the class project for their hard work during class and their nightly reading logs.

Our final assembly of the year was a success as we honored students for great or perfect attendance, PACER results and participation in music and art clubs in grades 2-4. The PTA surprised Mrs. Arnold with a remembrance tree as she heads off for retirement. Some lucky students also had the opportunity to pie in the face or silly string a staff member. Every day is a great day to be a coyote!

Every student will be coming home with a free book this week to enjoy over the summer. The Sanford School Department has purchased books using grant money. Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Martin were excited to see so many texts head home so families can read together over the summer months. Check out some of our coyote selections. Also, this is a reminder that today is last day of school for our PreK and K students. The last day of school for our grade 1-4 students is on Monday, June 10th.

Hello coyote families! The end of the school year is just around the corner. Does your student have an epipen, inhaler, or other medication in the nurse's office? Don't forget to make arrangements for an adult to come in and pick up medications before summer break!

What an incredible music concert season at Margaret Chase Smith Elementary! 🎵✨ The talented students from kindergarten through fourth grade put on spectacular performances over the past week. It kicked off last Thursday with the kindergarteners and first graders delighting us with their energy and enthusiasm. Then, earlier this week, the third graders took the stage and impressed us all with their skills. The season ended with a bang last night as the fourth graders gave a showstopping finale performance! A huge thank you to all the students for sharing their hard work and musical gifts with us. And a special shoutout to music teacher, Ms. Hastings! If you missed any of the concerts, don't worry - they'll be available to watch on WSSRTV's YouTube page very soon. Stay tuned for those video links!
