There is no school tomorrow or Columbus Day. Enjoy your long weekend! When we return, students will begin NWEA testing in reading and mathematics. This is a test taken on iPads that gives teachers specific information about your child's academic strengths and weaknesses. When children take the test to the best of their ability, our information is most accurate. We ask for your help encouraging your child to try their best, get a good night's sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast. We advise that students bring healthy snacks and a water bottle to school please. The NWEA testing window at CJL will be open between October 15th and the 25th. Thank you for your support!
The Flu Shot Clinic at CJL has been moved from October 17th to October 16th. If you would like your child to receive a flu shot at school on October 16th, please complete and return the form that we have sent home. It's not too late! If you need a new form, please let your child's classroom teacher know.
Please save the date Thursday, October 24th for CJL’s PTA Sponsored Fall Family FUN Festival which will go from 5:30-7:00PM. This is a free event, but you may want to have your wallet for the food/bake sale. Hope to see you there!

The Sanford School Department wants to remind parents to renew their Free and Reduced Meal Applications before October 15th to avoid any break in eligibility. Paper applications are available by calling your child’s school or parents can use the new, secure online application available at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/ . If you have any questions about the process, please contact our Foodservice Office at 608-8762.
Just a friendly reminder that our school fundraiser is due back on Friday please. All proceeds raised will be used to support students by providing educational enrichment opportunities. We thank you in advance for your participation!
Don't forget to bring in your Box Tops! Which classroom will win an ice cream party and the coveted Box Top trophy? You are also encouraged to download the Box Top App and scan your receipts. This is free money for our school. It’s like saving dimes. If we get really good and ask our friends and family to support Carl J. Lamb School, we know from experience that this could equate to over $4,000 from this year alone! We appreciate your support with Box Tops for Education!
Though we’re celebrating beautiful weather today, our mornings have been chilly and winter is right around the corner. Our classrooms remain quite warm so layered clothing is still best. If your child is in need of help with a winter coat, we have had new coat donations. Please email Mrs. Scremin, our friendly school counselor, at jscremin@sanford.org or call 608-8769 and leave her a message. If you’re looking for something to donate, we are in need of new mittens and gloves. Thank you! Enjoy your weekend!
If your child was absent on Thursday the 12th for pictures. Make ups will be on Wednesday the 18th at 8:45am on the CJL stage.
Bus 4 and bus 15 will both be running 15-20 minutes late today due to unforeseen circumstances. There is no cause for alarm or worry. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi CJL Families and Staff, Just a reminder that picture day is on Thursday, September 12th for our students. Our Open House for grades 1-3 will also be on Thursday, September 12th from 5:30-6:30pm. We hope to see lots of families that night! It’s a great chance to personally meet your child’s teacher, see some of what your student has been working on, and to visit the classroom and our school.

Hi CJL Parents, Next week, June 17th, 18th and 19th, students are strongly encouraged to bring drinks and snacks from home because our kitchen will not be able to provide snack drinks or the fresh fruit and veggie program. Water bottles are always a good idea this time of year. Please do not send children to school in flip flops or open toed sandals and it'd be appreciated if shorts/dresses/skirts are longer than fingertips. Tank top straps one inch or wider are acceptable. Thank you!
We’re very proud of the Class of 2019 CJL alumni who are graduating tonight! We wish them all the best in their futures and couldn’t be more proud! So grateful for the visit this morning!
