Families will not be permitted to enter the building and teachers will be unavailable to families for consult during the exchange, as staff will be working on district curricula adjustments, filing, and packing obligations. The last day of teachers' Zoom meetings with students, virtual field trips, and virtual "closing" activities with students is Friday, May 29th. Please Save the Date for our rolling motorcade, "The Lamb Rovers," on Thursday, May 28th at 3:00pm. Rain or shine! Choose a spot on our route so we can honk, wave, and say thank you to all students' and their families for the grand effort made this year! We appreciate you all, miss you, wish you a safe and happy summer and can't wait to see you again! The route is shared on the CJL PTA's Facebook Page. Thank you, Sherri L. Baron Principal Carl J. As CJL first graders completed their nonfiction writing unit, they used the Morphi Edu app to draw their research topics. The app turned their 2D drawings into 3D objects which Mrs. Miliano printed as necklaces with the library's 3D printers.

Kindness Matters It’s kindness that matters, In so many ways. Wherever you go, Whoever you see. However you spread it, Spread it generously. It’s kindness that matters, In the smiles you give. It’s in the ways that you behave, And the ways that you help. It’s in the things that you say, So, do more of it each day. It’s kindness that matters, And you started it that day. First in the hallways, Then into a club and beyond. Now spread it at home, And out and about. Thank you Kindness Club members! Mrs. Hally May 13/2020

I-Pads & Additional Resources Available for K-4 students on Friday, March 20th Sanford Schools Thursday, March 19, 2020 The following is a letter from Matt Nelson, Superintendent of Schools This is an important message to let families of K-4 elementary students know that iPads and additional resources for learning will be available for pick up at all three elementary schools tomorrow, Friday, March 20th from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. At CJL and Willard School, parents will remain in their cars and provide the child’s name and classroom teacher for curbside pick-up. At Lafayette School, parents will be met at the front door. The Sanford School Department is being proactive in putting technology in your child’s hands. Students’ iPads have many apps children may use to support the work that has been done in the classroom. The distance -learning document that accompanies the device focuses on additional school learning opportunities in the event that school closings extend beyond March 27th. If you are unable to pick-up your child’s iPad and additional learning resources on Friday, please contact your elementary school’s main office on Monday during normal school hours to make arrangements to pick-up materials. Sincerely, Matt Nelson Superintendent

Good afternoon families, The Sanford School Department’s website has been updated with resources for families – check it out at http://sanfordme.apptegy.us/o/sanford-school-department/page/2020-health-updates. We are very pleased with the first efforts that have been made with our learning packets as teachers have reported that many of you have been in close communication with them to maintain student learning. You may continue to reach all of your children’s teachers via email (first initial, last name @sanford.org) and some teachers are also using the ClassDojo App or Bloomz App for communication as well. Thank you for your continued support and feedback as we continue to navigate this endeavour together. It takes a village and ours is a great one! We’ll do what we can to help!
