Hi CJL Families, Here is a link to a YouTube Video by the CDC called, "What You Need to Know About Hand Washing." https://youtu.be/d914EnpU4Fo Thank you for teaching your students proper hand washing and preparing them for needing to do this at school when they arrive, before and after they eat or play outdoors, or if their hands are visibly soiled. We'll be teaching students to wash for 20 seconds with soap and water. Thank you for your support!

Hi CJL, Here is the route that our staff will be traveling for our CJL "Lamb Rovers" Motorcade on Thursday, May 28th. We'll leave CJL at 3:00pm. We want to say a big thank you to our families and wish them a happy summer! This Thursday, May 28th the CJL staff will be participating in a motorcade around Sanford. Families are encouraged to line the route, maintaining a safe social distance, and enjoy a laugh and a cheer with our staff. The lead car will depart from CJL School promptly at 3pm. The motorcade route can be seen in the attached photo. The motorcade will follow the route and all normal traffic lights and signs. This could cause a little separation amongst us, but that's okay. You'll know you've seen the last of us when you've seen about 45 vehicles go by. DIRECTIONS 1) The motorcade will start at CJL school, 2) turning right on Pleasant St. into Springvale, 3) turning left at Bridge St. coming to the main light to the left of Rite Aide and the BMV. 4) At the light, the motorcade will turn a left heading down Main St. all the way to the roundabout in South Sanford. 5) At the roundabout, the motorcade will go 3/4 around onto Rt 4/Alfred Rd 6) taking a left onto Grammar Rd. 7) and then a left onto Grammar St. 8) At Carpentier Park (the end of Grammar St), the motorcade will turn right onto High St. 9) and then a right onto River St., 10) continuing back to CJL School. Weather Forecast: My weather app currently shows 87 degrees F. and partly sunny for Thursday! 😊 We look forward to seeing you this Thursday afternoon! Thank you, Sherri L. Baron Principal

Families will not be permitted to enter the building and teachers will be unavailable to families for consult during the exchange, as staff will be working on district curricula adjustments, filing, and packing obligations. As CJL first graders completed their nonfiction writing unit, they used the Morphi Edu app to draw their research topics. The app turned their 2D drawings into 3D objects which Mrs. Miliano printed as necklaces with the library's 3D printers.

Kindness Matters It’s kindness that matters, In so many ways. Wherever you go, Whoever you see. However you spread it, Spread it generously. It’s kindness that matters, In the smiles you give. It’s in the ways that you behave, And the ways that you help. It’s in the things that you say, So, do more of it each day. It’s kindness that matters, And you started it that day. First in the hallways, Then into a club and beyond. Now spread it at home, And out and about. Thank you Kindness Club members! Mrs. Hally May 13/2020
