Dear Friends of the Sanford Schools,
The Sanford School Department is seeking community input for the naming of Sanford's newest elementary school (formerly the Junior High School on Main Street). This is an online survey but can be printed and mailed to the Sanford School Department (917 Main St, Sanford, ME 04073). The deadline to submit the survey is Feb 12, 2021. We are looking for ideas which include a connection to Sanford or the State of Maine and how the person or non-person has created a positive impact in our community. If suggesting a person, please include their date of birth, date of death (if applicable) and other details you feel are important for us to consider. This person should be of excellent moral character, have displayed outstanding leadership and made an outstanding contribution to education, humanity or community.
In order to elicit input from a wide variety of people, we would appreciate your help in sharing this survey to other people or organizations that have a connection to Sanford. We are looking forward to receiving your suggestions!

The information from this survey will be shared with the Sanford School Committee to help guide their naming decision. The goal is to select a name by March 2021. The school is scheduled to be ready in June of 2021 and open for the 2021-2022 school year. Updates will be shared on our school website www.sanford.org
