Tomorrow, the Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation will host a ceremony honoring Brian Flanagan, a beloved man who left an incredible legacy of care, passion, and dedication as a Sanford teacher and coach. A bridge built by SRTC students will be dedicated in his honor tomorrow, September 17th at 2:30 PM, next to the tennis courts at Sanford High School. The community is invited to attend. Long story, really short - We buy sunglasses every year as give aways. Got ours this year but they were not ours... belonged to the Wyoming Pork Producers Council. Called the company, they said toss them. (They got the Wyoming group their glasses). So we donated the glasses to the Piscataquis Valley Fair to give away for this weekend's fair and now Roosters around town are not only directing traffic but sporting the glasses! Director Petermann spotted one in Dover Foxcroft today! Can't make these stories up... Have a great weekend.

This morning, members of the New Hampshire Air National Guard came to the Sanford Regional Technical Center to recognize recent SHS and SRTC graduate Gavin Ericson as he signed his enlistment contract and took his oath. The ceremony took place in the SRTC welding room.

During his time at SRTC, Gavin completed two programs: Welding & Metal Fabrication and Engineering & Robotics. This fall, he will attend the University of New Hampshire to study mechanical engineering while serving with the New Hampshire Air National Guard. Congratulations to Gavin!

In Atlanta at the National SkillsUSA Student Leadership and Skills Conference, Connor Wilcox won Gold!!!! He competed for SRTC and the State of Maine at the National level and took home first place in Electrical Construction Wiring. We are extremely proud of Connor and all of our SRTC contingent down in Atlanta. They had a great week. Good work!!! #SRTC #MaineCTE

Congratulations to SRTC student Brayden St. Onge, who recently accepted a one-year apprenticeship opportunity with Pratt & Whitney during a special signing event at Sanford Regional Technical Center!

Brayden, a student in the Precision Machining program, will begin his professional career with Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick this September.

What a wonderful morning at Sanford Regional Technical Center! Members of the Sanford-Springvale Rotary Club joined us today for a breakfast hosted right here in the SRTC Cafe, with the meal prepared and served by our own culinary arts students.

The breakfast gave Rotary members the chance to meet our SRTC’s Student of the Year nominees, representing programs including Health Occupations, EMT, Firefighting, Precision Manufacturing, Engineering & Architectural Design, Automotive Technology, Electrical Wiring, Video Production, Digital Design, Agricultural Enterprise, Sports Medicine, and more. SRTC Director Matthew Petermann introduced each nominee with personalized words from their instructors.
