The National Honors Society is putting on its annual Toys for Tots collection at Sanford High School. December 8th before the boys' basketball games, they will be collecting toys outside of Partners Bank Gymnasium, along with outside the Girls' basketball games on the 12th. There are also boxes outside of the main office for collection as well. The collection ends after the varsity girls' basketball game on the 12th.

The Starving Spartan Cafe is now up and running in the Life Skills Suite at Sanford High School. Students have been working hard to prepare meals and drinks for students and staff while developing specific life skills. Read more about it here: https://www.sanford.org/article/1354952

Junior Achievement and its volunteers came by Sanford High School yesterday to present to sophomores on applications and resume skills. All SHS sophomores will have three lessons by Junior Achievement this year in job applications, interviewing for a job, and cell phones in the workplace. The SHS counseling department is proud to partner with Junior Achievement on this initiative.

Sanford High School senior Hannah Paterson and junior Quang Lam were recently accepted to Jazz All-State.
Jazz All-State is a festival put together by the Maine Music Educators Association. Students from all over the state of Maine audition to be a part of the Jazz festival, which includes an Honors Jazz Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Choir.

Good luck to SHS freshman Isaac Pelletier as he travels to Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast to compete in the Maine Cross Country State Championship! The Class A Bots race starts at 2:20 p.m.

With their win on Tuesday evening, the SHS football team has qualified for the postseason. They will head into the playoffs as the #4th seed. Sanford will travel to #1 seeded Thornton Academy on Monday, November 6th, for a 7 p.m. Class A South Regional Semi-Final game.
