This week we're having a Spirit Week in honor of Earth Day (April 22nd), a PTA movie Night on Thursday the 13th (doors open at 5pm), and this is the last week to register (by Friday, April 14th) for the Color Fun Run which takes place on Saturday, May 6th, rain or shine. Check out the latest employee spotlight on Carl J. Lamb teacher Laura Young! Happy Friday! https://www.sanford.org/article/1068148

Congratulations to Carl J. Lamb’s outstanding students who’ve received the school’s highest award for excellent citizenship last week!

The fourth graders in Mrs. LaPointe’s class at Carl J. Lamb have been coding. They started with “unplugged” coding to learn about sequencing and creating loops. Students then moved to “block” coding on Code.org. Students wrote code by assembling blocks in sequence to make a character complete a task.
So far they have helped collect acorns and they moved to helping Laurel collect treasure.
Coding is a great skill for students to learn. Not only does it teach computer science skills it also teaches perseverance, creative thinking, and analytical thinking.

Good morning CJL Families, Here is this week's newsletter which tells about our upcoming Family Movie Night, Color Fun Run, Pre-K and Kindergarten registration, and celebrates some of this past week's highlights. https://5il.co/1ruem Happy reading!
