Homecoming week was an exciting time to be in Sanford. All across the district, Sanford students demonstrated their spirit and hometown pride.

Spirit Weeks

Sanford High School wasn’t the only school bringing their spirit. Sanford elementary schools also held their own spirit weeks, inviting students to dress up to encourage participation and community-building.

Meanwhile at Sanford High School, Spirit Week centered on Homecoming and expressing Sanford pride! Each class painted their own banners to raise on their class floats, which were hung around the school for the duration of the week.

Red & White Pep Rally and Senior Dance

Sanford High School held their annual pep rally to get students excited about the Homecoming parade, football game, and other Friday night festivities. The seniors gave a grand entrance and performed a dance for students and staff, linked below. Throughout the pep rally, each grade cheered and whooped and hollered, participating in themed games and hearing the results of the week’s spirit contests.

Homecoming Parade & Block Party

The Homecoming parade saw a great turnout as community members lined the new route. Sanford schools are extremely proud and grateful for the support that the community showed our students.

The parade was led out by this year’s Grand Marshall, Kevin Way, as he sported the Spirit Stick. Class floats followed, along with the SHS Marching Band, Sanford youth athletic groups, and other members of the Sanford and SHS community.

Following the parade was a block party where families stayed to enjoy Kona Ice, yard games, and face painting courtesy of Sanford High School’s National Honor Society.
