SRTC Inducts More Than 80 Students into National Technical Honor Society

More than 80 Sanford Regional Technical Center students were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a ceremony held Wednesday, May 6, at the Sanford Performing Arts Center. The event celebrated the achievements of students who have demonstrated excellence in career and technical education programs.

The ceremony honored both returning members and welcomed new junior and senior inductees from programs spanning the full range of SRTC's career and technical offerings. SRTC Director Matt Petermann welcomed attendees, and Career Aspirations and ELO Coordinator Sally MacDougal delivered the NTHS slogan as part of the program.

The evening included a recognition of the seven attributes that define NTHS membership: leadership, skill, honesty, service, citizenship, scholarship, and character. Each attribute reflects the standard of excellence that inductees are expected to uphold both at SRTC and in their future careers.

The ceremony recognized students from a wide array of technical programs including Health Occupations, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Wiring, Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Video Production, Engineering & Architectural Design, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Precision Manufacturing, Building Trades, Information Technology & Networking, Emergency Medical Services, Cosmetology, Plumbing, Auto Collision Repair, Sports Medicine, Agriculture, and Academy of Business.

The NTHS recognition validates students' commitment to technical excellence and professional values, while highlighting the critical importance of skilled trades and technical professions to our economy and society.
