Sanford School Department Families,
We have completed our first feedback loop on updating the Sanford School Department's Mission, Vision, Core Principles & Beliefs on Learning and Portrait of a Graduate. We appreciate everyone’s input in shaping this important work.
To review, we used the Maine Department of Education's (MDOE) "Measure What Matters" as a starting point. Click here for a brief overview of this MDOE initiative .
The next step in this process included the formation of a steering committee made up of diverse stakeholders from across our school community to review the “Measure What Matters” results and develop an initial draft of an updated mission, vision, core principles and beliefs on learning and a portrait of a graduate to ensure alignment with the needs of the Sanford Community and its stakeholders. Click here for a list of the Steering Committee members.
Following our first feedback loop from staff and the Sanford Community our Steering Committee has carefully reviewed all responses in an effort to ensure these documents reflect the needs and values of the Sanford School Department, our students, staff and community.
We are now ready to share our revised draft with you for additional input as part of our second feedback loop. Your continued engagement in this process helps ensure that our Mission, Vision, Core Principles & Beliefs on Learning and Portrait of a Graduate truly represent our shared commitment to student success.
We ask that you complete this second feedback loop survey by July 31st.
