Students in Ms. Brann’s and Ms. Wechter’s kindergarten classes at Carl J. Lamb had their K for ME Showcase on Friday.

The showcase was a fantastic opportunity for students to share their work in Unit 2 for K for Me with their families. K for ME supports kindergarten students’ learning and development in literacy and language, science and engineering, social studies, the arts, and social-emotional realms.

The program uses instructional practices aligned with Maine’s learning results while building children’s learning ability through meaningful and relevant activities.

During Unit 2, students focus on nurturing living beings and delving into animal studies through exploration and inquiry. Specifically, they delve into the realms of fish, frogs, owls, and wolves. Additionally, students engage in collaborative project work.

Throughout the unit, students actively engage in read-aloud sessions, exploration at discovery tables, and creative expression at art studio tables to further their understanding of these creatures. At Friday’s showcase, students proudly presented artwork they had crafted to their parents.
