Carl J. Lamb teachers used their early release day time this week to dive into student writing standards and evidence of student application of the standards in their writing, celebrate what students were doing well, and share instructional strategies and next steps with one another.

Teachers utilized scoring rubrics, calibrated what score they felt each piece deserved, and shared their takeaways at the end of the day.

Teachers found this time valuable because it helped them work towards their goals of improving student achievement, building the capacity of our teachers to be the best educators they can be, and learning from one another.

Carl J. Lamb’s literacy coach, Christy Crowley, and teachers Erik Benham, Bob Rothwell, and Rachel Legere supported this professional development.
