Sanford Middle School participated in National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 2nd.
This is a nationally recognized day to bring awareness to cardiovascular disease. February is also American Heart Month.
Katelyn Gray and Andjuli Madison encouraged students and staff to wear red and do at least one heart-healthy activity with their homeroom.
Some activities they encouraged staff to do with their students included watching a calming YouTube video to help reduce stress, do some stretching, and taking a walk.
They also put up flyers around the school with tips for how to prevent heart disease.
