How long have you worked in the Sanford School Department?

I've been part of the incredible Second Grade team at Margaret Chase Smith since 2022 and have been a teacher for 16 years altogether.

What's your favorite part about working in Sanford?

Being an MCS Coyote! It's really like having an extended family. The leaders of our pack, Mrs. Hallissey & Mrs. McGuckin take a personal interest in seeing our staff and students succeed. I'm grateful to work in a community that cares about our well-being and is focused on developing the character of our students, as well as their academic growth.

What's your favorite TV show or Movie?

This is embarrassing, but it's The Bold & the Beautiful (a soap opera that transports me to a glitzy, glamorous world which is the polar opposite of my own)!

If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

I had to ask my students to help me with this one...they said "kind", "helpful", and "silly".

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?

I've never been to Europe. I'd love to explore all the culture and adventures that continent has to offer.

Iced coffee or hot coffee?

No coffee. Sweet tea please.

Playlists or podcasts?

I have about seven different podcasts I listen to when I'm driving, but I love a good 70's/80's music playlist as well.

Lake or ocean?

Ocean. My favorite quote is "Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air." by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Sunrise or sunset?

Watching the sunrise on a beach or a mountain top with a loved one.

Facebook or Instagram?

I try to keep up with both, but Facebook is my go-to for keeping in touch with old friends.
