Sanford Middle School’s Theatre Troupe presented their Broadway Junior Revue “Raise Your Voice 2023” on Friday, November 17th.
The production showcased a medley of songs from James and the Giant Peach, Fiddler on the Roof, Junie B. Jones, Annie, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Into the Woods, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, and High School Musical.
Rehearsals for Raise Your Voice began back in September under the direction of Adam Bellefeuille. Sanford Middle School Teacher Sara Crabtree was the Assistant Director, and Sanford High School freshman Morgan Bailey was the choreographer. Students rehearsed several times a week after school to prepare for the production, refining their singing and dancing skills.
Congratulations to the following students for their performances: Cyra Brannan, Faith Court, Charlotte David, Natiley Deflaco, Carmine Dumont, Abigail Engram, Joshua Fogarty, Taryn “TJ” Folk, Anna Held, Dylan Jones, Zoie Kraus, Silas Lathrop, Cierra McInerney, Abbey Menard, Andrea Merritt, Natalie Mills, Maxwell Moul, Alana Perez, Khloe Pivin, Kenna Robinson, Alistair Rowell, Riley Roy, Chloe Saucier, Ella-Ann Silva, Lyriel Westgate and Ariana Young.
The cast members wouldn’t have been able to pull off their performances without the work of the stage crew, which included Grace Eaton, who took on the role of General Stage Manager, Xyla Kurz, who helped with scenery development and deployment, and Addison Leonard who assisted with sound development.
Through their involvement in the production, the students gained confidence, developed their artistic abilities, and learned the importance of commitment and perseverance. The Broadway Junior Revue provided an opportunity for students to showcase their talents and served as a valuable experience, promoting creativity, self-expression, and teamwork. The Sanford Middle School Theatre Troupe is grateful to its extended stage family for their contributions to Raise Your Voice 2023.
