Carl J. Lamb, Sanford Pride, and Margaret Chase Smith elementary schools each organized celebrations to honor the sacrifices of veterans for Veterans Day.

On Friday, November 3rd, Carl J. Lamb Elementary School hosted an assembly in its cafeteria, inviting veterans from the community to join in the commemoration. There were performances from students of all grades, including musical renditions, artistic exhibitions, and more. Veterans were brought up on stage during the assembly to watch the students perform.

Veterans were also given the opportunity to visit classrooms and share their experiences of service with students. The assembly concluded with a brunch held in the music room.

At Sanford Pride Elementary School, the 4th Grade Chorus worked on a special recording project to express their gratitude to veterans. The recording serves as a testament to the deep respect and admiration these young students have for those who have served in the military.

You can watch their recording below:

On Thursday, November 9th, Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School hosted a Veterans Day breakfast. The school community gathered in the cafeteria to share a meal while honoring the veterans among them.

Students played an active role in expressing their gratitude, taking turns to deliver thank you messages to the veterans in attendance. Some students also presented important facts about Veterans Day, shedding light on its historical significance. Towards the end of the breakfast, students also participated in singing Margaret Chase Smith’s school song.

We are so proud of all of our schools for recognizing and honoring veterans. We also want to thank all of the veterans for their service and sacrifice to protect our freedoms.
