SPAC opens season with comedy we all can agree on

SANFORD — With the election season heating up, how about a political comedy that will unite us with humor we can all agree on? Sanford Performing Arts Center presents such an opportunity, with The Capitol Fools on stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

Kicking off the 2023-2024 season, The Capitol Fools hold up a mirror to our stranger-than-fiction political culture through outrageous song parodies and uncanny reflections that will bowl you over with belly

laughter. Familiar audiences will recognize cast members from past seasons of the Capitol Steps performing all the beloved bits, the mind-boggling backward-talking spoonerisms, break-neck costume changes, over-the-top impressions, and all-new song parodies reflecting the day's news. They will give you a memory that will last a lunchtime.

When Washington, D.C.'s premiere political satire group, The Capitol Steps, called it quits after nearly 40 years, The Capitol Fools were born! As fast-paced and laugh-out-loud as ever, these fools skewer both

sides of the aisle. This comedy is the best medicine for what ails our government, and we have the constitutional right to laugh!

The spirit, irreverence, and DNA of The Capitol Steps lives on with The Capitol Fools! Tickets are $29-$49, with discounts for students, seniors, veterans and SPAC season subscribers. For tickets, call or visit sanfordpac.org.
