SANFORD — You’ve come, you’ve cheered and you’ve told your friends and family. Now the word about Sanford Performing Arts Center’s quality showcase is out, and this season’s new lineup is already creating a buzz around its new shows and returning favorites to our Sanford stage!

The season opens with the The Capitol Fools at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. The Capitol Fools hold up a mirror to our stranger-than-fiction political culture through outrageous song parodies and uncanny
reflections that will bowl you over with belly laughter. Familiar audiences will recognize cast members from past seasons of the Capitol Steps performing all the beloved bits, the mind-boggling backward-talking spoonerisms, break-neck costume changes, over-the-top impressions, and all-new song parodies reflecting the day’s news.
They will give you a memory that will last a lunchtime. When Washington, D.C.’s premiere political satire group, The Capitol Steps, called it quits after nearly 40 years, The Capitol Fools were born! As fast-paced and laugh-out-loud as ever, these fools skewer both sides of the aisle. This comedy is the best medicine for what ails our government, and we have the constitutional right to laugh! The spirit, irreverence, and DNA of The Capitol Steps lives on with The Capitol Fools! It’s a political comedy that will unite us with humor we can all agree on! Tickets are $29-$49.
