Sanford Middle School had its JA In a Day: Economics for Success for 7th graders on Wednesday.

Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization that recruits volunteers to teach students about economics and personal finance.

Volunteers from Junior Achievement of Maine, Stone Coast Fund Services, Heatable, Head Invest, and Moody’s Collision met with 7th graders to teach them about economic and personal finance.

Students rotated five sessions throughout the day, taking in volunteer presentations about financial literacy, budgeting, and much more.

Presenters included Pamela Bennett from Junior Achievement of Maine, Bill Cleary, Nick Broadhurst, Brooke Newburg, Justine Chabot, Jacob Johnson, and Jeff Nasse from Stone Coast Fund Services, Ginny Peruse from Moody’s Collision, and Corey Buzzell from Head Invest.

Thank you so much to SMS Social Studies Department hear Erin Barry, who coordinates Junior Achievement experiences for 7th and 8th graders each spring!
