Luka Kinard speaks to SMS students about dangers and risks of vaping

A guest speaker came to Sanford Middle School Monday morning to talk to 7th and 8th graders about the dangers and risks of vaping/e-cigarette products.

Luka Kinard is an advocate from Highpoint, North Carolina, who spent 39 days in an inpatient treatment center for a severe vaping addiction when he was 16.

Luka is now 19 years old and clean. He talked to 7th and 8th graders at SMS for nearly 45 minutes about his experience and how he was able to get himself healthy.

He now works with Truth Initiative and campaigns for Tobacco-free Kids to spread the word on the dangers and risks of youth vaping.

Sanford Middle School is very thankful to Luka for giving us his time on Monday!
