Techsploration

During the last week of school when our current students were wrapping up, SRTC was busting at the seams hosting nearly 1600 8th grade students from all 8 partner districts (including Kennebunk, Kittery, Marshwood, Massabesic, Noble, Sanford, Wells, and York) for what has been coined “TECHSPLORATION”. This was extra special this year as we had not been able to host this event since 2019. In advance of their visit, all students were asked to complete an Interest Inventory and do research related to SRTC and our 22 programs. During the visit, they were able to visit/experience three different programs for 15 minutes each. The timing of this event is purposeful in that these students are about to embark on a new leg of their educational journey with high school and knowing now that SRTC may be an option and getting a “visual” of what Career and Technical looks like and also requires. Special thanks for Smitty’s Cinema for the donation of popcorn which added to the Video Production experience nicely! We are also extremely grateful for the support of the MELMAC Education Foundation; our MELMAC grant allowed us to hold both the visit to Sanford Middle School's 6th Grade and Techsploration.
