ASVAB Career Exploration: For any SRTC student seeking to explore career skills and interests in any area, you are invited to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) for free here in the Career Planning Center. This federally funded assessment helps you find your strengths and consider various careers for your future. Although it is not required, the ASVAB results can also be used to meet later with recruiters if you choose to do so and are interested in joining the military. Next test sessions: January 19th and 21st.  Spots are limited! Sign up soon by emailing jbartlett@sanford.org!

SENIORS…Interested in attending community college in Maine next fall? Here’s a low-stress way to take action! SRTC will be hosting “On-the-spot” Admissions Days with SMCC (Southern Maine Community College in So. Portland) and YCCC (York County Community College in Wells) in late December and early January. Students can have a virtual individual meeting with an admissions representative, hosted in the Career Planning Center at SRTC (or from your home if you are a remote student). You will receive an admissions answer that day! It is FREE and EASY to apply. Email jbartlett@sanford.org to SIGN UP for SMCC by December 7th and YCCC by January 7th. I’ll provide you with your next steps.

Need help with the FAFSA? The staff at FAME (Finance Authority of Maine) are available to help for free! Join FAME for a free Virtual FAFSA Help session. At these sessions, a brief FAFSA overview is provided to answer the most commonly asked questions, followed by private, individualized virtual help from FAME staff.
