On Wednesday, May 14, during both sessions, SRTC's radio frequency came to life with a call from Dispatch for Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Technician, and Firefighting to respond to a bus versus car accident in the Fire Training area. All the students jumped into action and leaders / incident commanders were assigned. Each those students had a professional from the profession assisting them along the way. Students had to secure the area, ensure the safety of all, and remove any casualties to our mock Emergency Room in our Health Occupations programs. Our Video Production program provided actors for casualties and video taped all the action. We have to thank all those who helped us with this enormous opportunity to have a Mass Casualty Incident simulation here at SRTC: The Sanford Police Department, Sanford Fire Department, LifeFlight of Maine, Scarborough Police Department, Acton Fire Department, Alfred Fire Department, and Maine Health. Outstanding day! Great experience!
