SRTC Academy of Business Students Succeed at the Titan Challenge

The Academy of Business once again participated in the annual Titan Challenge that is sponsored by Junior Achievement of Maine.  This year 125 teams competed against one another via an online business simulation from seven locations throughout the state of Maine. The Academy of Business had six teams representing SRTC competing in the challenge at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook.  Students work together in teams of three along with a JA mentor making decisions for a futuristic product called the Holo-Generator.  The teams need to make a decision on setting price, how many items to produce (having to keep an eye on inventory and sales), marketing, research and development for improvement, capital investment as well as charitable giving.  A total of seven rounds are played throughout the day.  The team who ranks the highest out of all seven rounds wins the overall challenge.  This year SRTC had one team made up of Conrad Nicely (Noble), Hannah Warren (Noble) and Ellis Civiello (Sanford) who won the regional challenge and came in 2nd overall in the state. It should also be noted that all SRTC placed in the Top 10 in the region and also scored higher than some of the other regional winners.  Great job Academy of Business!!!
