130 Sanford High School and Sanford Regional Technical Center students recently completed the Maine Career Exploration Badge through the Jobs for Maine Graduates Program (JMG).

The career exploration badge for Maine high school juniors and seniors is an opportunity to participate in 40 hours of meaningful work experiences facilitated through a designed exploration and reflection process.

SHS and SRTC students had to complete these hours of hands-on employer engagement experiences along with online modules utilizing JMG’s learning management system.

Students had to document their employer engagement experience, and plan for their future. Students received an academic award of $500 upon completion.

Sanford High School JMG Master Specialist Cheryl Gifford taught business entrepreneurship during the first semester. Students researched and designed a business related to a career of their choice.

Five juniors and seniors went the extra mile and will receive college credit through Thomas College.

Juniors and seniors that are interested in earning a badge should contact Gifford in person in her room, C205, or by emailing her at cgifford@sanford.org.
