The Building Trades Program at Sanford Regional Technical Center recently received a donation from Deering Lumber. Deering Lumber holds an annual golf tournament and has donated some of the proceeds to the program.
Instructor Troy Hathaway says the funds can be used to do more individualized projects with students.
He plans to have students build mock-up buildings to learn how to frame floors, walls, roofs, ceilings, and interior partitions.
They will also learn how to install doors, windows, exterior and interior trim, drywall, and many other aspects of residential construction.
